Confused about blinds and dealer button in a hold 'em tournament?

okay, senerio..... 3 players left in a tournament. Player A is dealer, Player B is small blind, Player C is big blind. Player C gets knocked out in this hand. How does the button and blinds fall into place after this? Had player C not been knocked out, player B would be dealer.... since it turns to heads up, Player B would be dealer and small blind a second time in a row and player A would be big blind? or.... would player A be dealer a second time in a row and small blind and player B be big blind?.....

i can't seem to find a straight answer to this... i know that players are not supposed to be the same blind (either small or big) two times in a row, but i also know that a player is not supposed to be skipped when it comes to big blind either.

  1. Player A will be big blind

    Player B will be dealer

    There is no small blind

There is no small blind because the designated small blind (Player C) was knocked out. The game goes on regularly.

If Player A was knocked out Player B would be both the big blind and dealer.

    I hope this explained somethings.
