Confused about silver membership on xbox live and gold?

Question

Basically I've made about 3 accounts on Xbox live which are silver and i could play online for free, i thought you couldnt. Now i make an account and it says your account is not allowed to play on Xbox live. It's weird because I've made silver accounts before which have worked on xbox live, because i heard you can get a free month then you have to pay, how can you access the free month?

do i pick a different option when i register to access the free month on my new account?

Your first three silver accounts become Gold for the first month (at least they used to, not sure if they still do).  After the first three, you can't get any more free months.  Only gold accounts can play multiplayer games.  Silver accounts cannot.

you want it to work again than somehow get a different.....I.P adress cus they have caught on.....or quit being such a cheap *** and go buy a membership
