Question:

Confused - any websites to search within 30 days for best airfare?

My fiance & I are going to Hawaii (Maui) to get married & I don't really care what date it is. I was hoping for July. I found that it was cheaper to go on the 5th but somehow between yesterday & today, it went up $150/pp. I didn't know it could change like that.

The lowest I'm finding (for reasonable departure times) is $950/pp. I can't find the website that had the calendar for the whole month. Are there any sites you know of that I can search the whole month of July?

Thanks a bunch. I haven't planned a vacation in a while.

  1. I normally use expedia or travelocity. Expedia won't let you use flexible dates for flights that are not on a regular schedule, that's why it won't let you do a month at a time. Travelocity will let you use flexible dates and show for the whole month, but it looks like the earliest return is 3 days. I don't know how long you were planning on staying. They had some as low as $540 pp. I would try Travelocity.

  2. The airlines adjust prices as the plane fills up - your experience isn't all that uncommon. The expedia site allows you to select "my dates are flexible and see prices month by month for many US routes: http://www.expedia.com/daily/home/defaul... It isn't clear exactly what you consider a reasonable departure time, but the less popular times and dates will tend to be cheaper.

Here are some other sites that you can try:

    http://farechase.yahoo.com/

  3. Well I dont know where you are coming from but you can try my own personal website www.jsgetaway.com  Usually if you try to book your flights on days that are not so busy like a wednesday you will be better off on price.  Also if you book together the flight and hotel the price will drop.

    Hope this helps

    Good Luck

  4. Hi!  Try Kayak.com or you can sign up for special airfare sales on Southwest.  They have what is called a DING!  Go to their home page.  Click on the DING! and download it.  It will ask you your home airport and also frequented areas.  You can add as many as you like.  You should get a "DING!" everyday with specials for all airports you add.  There will be a little Southwest wing added to your tool bar.  Every time there is a special you will have a little envelope in the wing.  Usually their specials are within 30 days.  And last...I usually get the best prices from Expedia.

Sorry.  I can't think of any sites that have their whole calender with prices listed.  There is Allegiant Air formerly Hooters Air that lists their fares in that format.  But I checked for you.  None of the departing airports by you fly to Hawaii.

    Good luck!!

P.S.  Going to Maui sounds like a great idea!!!

  5. i have used priceline.com every time i go home to california!
