i have known i was a libertarian for awhile now but i don't know if i should vote for a candidate closer to my beliefs (Barr) or for a candidate that has a chance in this election. My vote would probably not be relevant if i did vote for barr but i feel if i vote for one of the main two i WOULD be throwing my vote away. I don't really know what i should do.

  1. Please, vote for a candidate that has a chance.  Please vote for Obama!  thank you :)

  2. I personally voting for Dad as President.  Both Major party candidates suck.

  3. s***w relevance.  Vote for who YOU think is best.  Win or lose, you did what you thought was right.

  4. I could try and sway you one way or another here, but as an American I have to tell it to you straight. It's your vote and your vote alone. If you feel you are libertarian and like what they stand for then vote for Barr. It doesn't matter if he loses. What matters is you exercised your right to vote and made a decision based on what you feel is the way the country should be led.

  5. Vote for the candidate that best defines your beliefs.  Regardless of the candidate Make your voice heard.

  6. The wasted vote argument is hilarious. Everyone that voted for Gore in 2000 wasted their vote. They voted for a guy that won the popular vote but lost the election.

Vote your conscience! Republicans and Democrats agree on 90% of everything. If you vote Democrat or Republican, you are voting for the same tired regime.

Vote your conscience. Make a stand! Vote independent.

  7. I agree with Flyhock.  However, it's the Electoral College that votes the candidate into office really.  How much does the popular vote realistically count?  On one hand, you should vote who you want in office.  On the other, if you don't vote for one of the two main candidates, people like you would make it a 3 or 4 way event, thereby, nulling the whole thing based on the 2/3s percentages.  It's a tricky decision.  I always go for the lesser of the two evils.  It's politics.

  8. my best suggestion for you is to Do your research. there's alot of mud-slinging that happens during these elections.  If your an informed Voter, your the most dangerous person to any party your not apart of.  Share your truth on any of the candidates.

Dont vote for who you THINK will win assuming your vote anywhere else wont have an effect. vote for who you WANT to win.  for who will do the best job in your new found knowledgeable eye.  I'm an Independent for the sole reason that I want to vote for who I think is best, not be confined to a party.

Best of luck and always check the sources of the gossip you hear

  9. Barr won't win but he may win enough votes to qualify for federal funds next time.  That could make a big difference in 2012

  10. Cast your vote for who you believe in, not b/c you think someone else might win.  Vote with who you believe in. There is no better way to make your vote heard than voting with your heart.

  11. A vote for Bob Barr is a vote for Bob Barr. Don't believe the argument about throwing your vote away. If someone else loses by one vote they should have worked harder for your vote.
