Question:

Confused on buying a Laptop?

I would like to buy a laptop since I can barely get on my desktop at home anymore but am confused on brand and model.

Will I be able to get internet on it or do I need to buy something to attach to my DSL line at home? I heard of a wireless box I can purchase but am confused on the whole thing.

I will use it mostly for recreational use but I also would like to download games onto it (Warcraft the expansion pack comes to mind).

Also should I buy it online (such as newegg.com) or through Bestbuy or Circuit City?

I would like to keep it under my $1000 budget (and would love to save) but I may budge on price

Thanks in advance.

  1. I would recommend you do some research (www.cnet.com) and look at what the editors suggest. if you do not understand the jargon, then it is best to go in store and speak to the sales people. when they suggest a model, write it down and google it to see what other people think about it. when you make your decision, then purchase it where ever it is cheapest, (although i personally hate ordering online). And yes you will be able to attach your laptop to the dsl line, either via ethernet or wireless (if you have a wireless router). unless you use your laptop outside your house (in which case, you can get a wireless data card from your fav phone company) you do not need any more hardware.
