  1. I have had an Indian Ringneck.  Mine was an excellent talker.  The clearity was very good.  He knew a lot of different words and phrases.  The one he said the most was "come here buddy".  He could also immitate noises.  When someone was at the door he would bark like the dogs-I couldn't tell the difference between the birds barking and the dogs.  He would also do door squeaks and other random noises.

I never had any problems with my birds, but on occassion he would bite hard(most birds will though) He was a very good flyer.  He didn't really like to be petted much, he prefered to just sit with you.  Mine bonded much more with my daughter then with anyone else.  My daughter was able to pet her a lot.  Indian ringnecks are also good at learning tricks.

Some birds never talk even if the species is known for talking-I have heard of some African Greys that can't talk.  Make sure you get a bird that you like the look and temperment of just in case they don't ever talk.
