If the job takes 15 hours, which company should she hire to pay the least?

  1. You once again need to set them equal to one another and solve for x.  Also, now that I have told you how, you should do them on your own, and quit trying to get someone to DO them.  Good luck!

  2. Let h = number of hours

    how many hours so both companies are equal?

    companyA = companyB

    100 + 30h = 135 + 25h

    5h = 35

    h = 7

    At 7 hours, they'd be equal.

    Which is cheaper at 15 hours?

    companyA:  100 + 30(15) = 100 + 450 = 550

    companyB:  135 + 25(15) = 135 + 375 = 510

    Company B is cheaper.

  3. 100 + 30t = 135 + 25t

    5t = 35

    t = 7

    7 hours would result in the same cost for both companies

    Company A: 100 + 30 * 15 = 550

    Company B: 135 + 25 * 15 = 510

    she hire Company B
