Confusion about timing/locations of Maha Kumbh Mela...?

Question

Do I understand correctly: the Maha Kumbh Mela occurs every three years at one of the four locations, and rotates thru all four locations before repeating?

Thus, next Maha Kumbh Mela is Haridwar 2010, and would be 2022 before returning to Haridwar.

Anyone here been to one in the past?

so it like this there are for places ujain haridwar nasik and allahabad...every three year there will be a mela in each place...but the mela will return on that same place only after 12 years...(there is also arth kumha mela that acoour every 6 years).but the most important one will be the one of allahabad that wiil return on 2013...

Yes. I was at Allahabad and sorry I can't remember the year. Incredible. You will for the rest of your life try to tell people about this spectacle and they will look you in the eyes, **** their heads, and look at you like you just steeped off a UFO. Just incredible. Was camped out on an island in a dry river bed. Millions of people. They used to let elephants in. Poor b******s would go crazy and just kill dozens in those crowds.
