Confusion around Olympique de Marseille’s transfer window aspirations

Oui, non, Peut etre are probably the most used words at the province of Rhone where http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 seem to be clueless as to which player should they go for in the upcoming winter transfer window. The sale of at least one player would certainly
be much appreciated
“We are in a complicated financial situation and there is no more money than there was this summer. But it is clear that you are in a position where you are two far from the third place , in the transfer window, we can take risks, but calculated risks,”
were the words of Marseille president Vincent Labrune on November 28, which left room for at least some hope in the transfer window.
Following a 3-1 victory over Nancy Lorraine, Marseille are five points off the third place. However, in the aftermath of the victory, Labrune’s statement was same as it was a few weeks ago.
Labrune said that there is no more money and they will have to find an automatically ready player. Labrune then revealed that the club can’t afford to invest on new players as it is impossible to do so particularly due to their commitments with the DNCG.
It is not a secret that Marseille aspire to sign at least two players in the winter. With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Souleymane-Diawara-c33850 leaving in January to represent their respective countries in the African Cup of Nations, coach Didier Deschamps does
not want to begin the second half of the campaign without replacements.
“It is not too hard to find (players). Earlier, we could or could not, today, it seems complicated. We’ll see. You know how I see things. I want to find players who can be important for the team and it’s necessary to recruit players that compliment the team.
Not only for the period of the CAN, but for the second half of the season as well,” Labrune indicated this giving Deschamps some hope of meeting one or two new faces in January.
Along with Lyon, the Rhone province is going through an austerity plan in footballing terms and financial. With Marseille looking to cut down their losses, Labrune might consider selling Andre-Pierre Gignac. The departure of the Frenchman would certainly
give the club some money which could be used to bring in a few players.
