Confusion over health effects of diamond dust ingestion?

I was searching on the internet for information about the safety of diamond e.g. diamond dust etc.

One link that I found which I think comes from a book called "The poisoners handbook" is:

http://www.nanomedicine.com/NMIIA/15.1.1.htm

Another link I found which says that diamond is not a hazardous material is:

http://www.vanmoppes.ch/MSDS_1_e.pdf

Another MSDS which says it is not hazardous is :

http://msds.chem.ox.ac.uk/DI/diamond.html

I am obviously confused by this so can any of you medical people help me ?

  1. It is relatively pure unreactive (very) carbon . I would think it to be rather benign.

  2. We are not talking about chemical/toxicological effects here.

Grey asbestos, after all, is inert. Fine particulates can irritate (expose cell membranes?) and damage can ensue.

Glass fibres. Fine sand. Diamond Dust. Not good.
