Question:

Confusion over my Myers-Briggs type...?

I took that Myers-Briggs personality test yesterday and was told that am an ISFJ. However, when I got more specific results, it seemed I was 100% towards introvert and about 50% towards both feeling and judging. However, I was told that I was only 1% towards sensing.

I am now confused. I don't know whether I am ISFJ or INFJ. Obviously, the test did say that I was ISFJ, but I think that I must take into account that some questions were slightly vague and that hence I may have acually slipped into INFJ.

besides, it seems that I am so close to being an INFJ that I wonder... well, am I just somewhere in-between ISFJ and INFJ?

Thank you...

  1. With personality assessments it can be difficult as it is not a completely white and black situation. With the ISFJ and INFJ, the only different is the S (sensing) versus the N (intuitive). Since you said you were only 1% sensing, this would lead me to believe INFJ (as you would be more intuitive). Yet, for it to give you an ISFJ type would mean that you were less than 1% on intuitive.

I am unsure where you took this test (online?), which will also limit narrowing in on your personality type. If you did take it online, than go to several different Myers-Briggs personality test sites and do several of them to see what the results are. The best way to actually know your personality type is through a psychologist or someone who is experienced in this field. Read the difference between an ISFJ-INFJ personality and see if you feel one suits you more than the other.
