Confusions still persistent in the unfortunate case of Marc Savard -NHL Update
Confusion around Marc Savard, the Boston Bruin’s veteran centre player, if whether he will be able to play sometime in the future or not is still persistent around the National Hockey League (NHL) as his concussion woes just are not seem to be coming to an end anytime soon.
With a number of players already out of the 2011-2012 NHL regular season due to the same problem, including Pittsburgh Penguins captain, Sidney Crosby, and Philadelphia Flyers captain, Chris Pronger, Savard is just another name on the list, but those in need of the player know what it truly feels like not having him around.
Marc was at the peak of his career as he was registered nearly 100 points a season until problem struck last season, limiting him to playing only 41 games in total and leaving once again after only 25 games this time around having registered 10 points (2 goals, 8 assists).
Not being able to perform and play the game he loves so much, Savard is doing fine being around his family more now.
"I know what I've gone through and what I've been through lately", Savard said. "I felt that, at this present time, I'd like to do something for Boston because they've been so great for me. I know what these kids are going through and I just thought that this was something minor I could do".
One positive thing about his situation is that Savard has not needed to announce his retirement as of yet and is hopeful of playing again, but his condition does not give off the view that he is capable of returning on the ice, not for now at least.
"Right now, with the way I'm still feeling and the daily issues I'm having, it's tough to see a bright future right now. It's tough, but there are days when I want to get back and play, but at the end of the day, too, I know if I got possibly hit again what could happen”, Savard added.
Boston Bruins would get a major boost having Marc Savard back on the team, but seeing that health is always top priority, forcing recovery is not the way to go.
