  1. Absolutely! There seem to have been a lot of crashes and near misses over the last couple of year, plus the 2001 attacks in the USA; I'd bet those passengers were in a total state of panic. The plane landed without exploding, and everyone got out safely and calmly and that can only have been because of great work by all the staff.

  2. Agreed ! It's always worth taking a few minutes to read what to do in the event of an emergency - also, it does help to pay attention to the cabin flight attendants.

  3. The Boeing would have had its nose up in line with the runway which would eleviate it falling out of the sky earlier. The grass and soft ground prevented what could have been a major disaster. We are talking here about the worlds best Boeing and BA.Yes,the aircrew did well as they were trained to do.The real star is the 777 she is a tough dear built on the safety records of her predecesers.

  4. Exactly, what i was thinking, i think one of the smartest things they did was to open the cabin doors immediately upon impact. Thank God there was no fire, but if there was, opening the dorrs on impact would have saved lots of people.

  5. very lucky and a well trained crew.with a quick emergency response.

    total team work

  6. I agree, they were very efficient. The result could have been a lot worse.

  7. Here! Here !

  8. congrats to the british airline industry as a whole as well. We have one of the worlds best air safety records. If you knew how busy heathrow was as well, you would certainly commend the safety record. Most airports hAVE A 2 MINUTE gap between planes leaving and entering an airport, at heathrow that gap is a mere 45 seconds!!

  9. i agree. BA is one of the better airlines i flew on. Looking at the damage its surprising no one was killed. The triple 7 stood up remarkably well. i wonder how it would of turned out if it was a screaming metal deathtrap of a plane aka airbus.

  10. Airline and corporate jet pilots go through "Sim" training every 90 days to 6 months, depending upon their flight status requirements, and they are regularly run through emergency procedures and cockpit resource management evaluations just for this reason. So in essence they did their job right on the money........
