Question:

Conia dvd player problem

Dear Sir/MadameMy Conia DVD player (not recorder) has: M550 printed on the front of the unit. The problem I am increasingly experiencing is:Freezing, or sticking when I play orrowed DVDs and 'home burnt' DVDs that have been viewed a number of times and consequently have lots of very fine scratches (yet with no obviously terminal damage). The sticking problem occurs both when playing, as well as when fast-forwarding. The sticking problem can occurr every few seconds making the program impossible to watch, or else it can stop the program altogether. The sticking problem is usually accompanied by an unusual sound which at this stage I will refrain from attempting to describe in case I confuse your prognosis. The sticking problem only rarely occurs when playing DVDs that have been recorded by my family on a separate DVD recording machine, which we presume is becase there are NO scratches on those disks whatsoever. As my Conia DVD is no longer in the warranty period, I would be extremely grateful if you are able to assist me in this matter. I am relatively practical, so would not be afraid to open the unit and check/replace parts if you are able to explain roughly what to do.Kind regardsDale+ 61 405 467616
