  1. The quality of cables needed to prevent too much signal degradation probably cost more than us working class would have to spend. I suggest you move the computer close to the screen, or put another computer there and network the two computers.

  2. The easieset thing is to get a "VGA to component video cable" (assuming your tv has component inputs).  Go to ebay and buy the cable I have listed. This is by far the easiest method! And probably the cheapest. You can get a 50ft cable for about $20 bucks!

This cable is capable of 720p/1080i. It should look just as good as an HDMI. Only difference is you won't have the sound. If you need sound, an HDMI is the easiest and best quality. But if cost is an issue, you could just run an RCA cable. If you don't/can't use HDMI, here is what you need:

    VIDEO:

50ft VGA to Component Cable (Link listed below)

    SOUND:

    50ft RCA Cable

male mini stereo to female RCA Cable

Total cost about $40. Good luck!

If you don't have component or HDMI inputs, let me know!

  3. If you really want to do it right and have your flat screen look like a big monitor, put a video card in your pc that has an hdmi out put. Get a 50' hdmi cable from a company called Monoprice. As long as your flat screen has an hdmi input you should have no problem. I have seen video cards with hdmi out starting at $80.00. 50' HDMI cables around $50.00.
