ok, my ps3 is downstairs and my modem is upstairs so, i bought a router and put it in my room. It was fine until i bought a "homeplug turbo 85mbps ethernet adapter" (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Solwise-85Mb-Homeplug-Ethernet-Adapter/dp/B000I7J85I/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1216995499&sr=8-2). I was playing mgs4 online when the message "internet connection error" appeared on screen. It then dissapeared and reapeared every 5 secs, causing me to keep stopping, getting shot to pieces and then glitching when respawning. I tried to return to my regular wireless and that started doing the same thing. Any help as to what i should do? i have virgin media 2mb broadband if that is useful. Please, please help!

  1. If its happening despite the adaptor then you will want to try reseting the router, checking the settings within that and if all else fails, contact Virgin to ensure that your line is undisturbed in your area. It could well be line interference which they can sort out. Also have you added any other wireless devices recently? Some work on the same frequency as wi-fi (baby moniters, cordless phones etc). Try turning those off and playing again.

From the symptoms you either have a dodgy internet connection (Try connecting on your main computer, does that run fine? START->RUN->CMD->PING GOOGLE>COM) If it does then it sound like the Wi-Fi is off, could be the router or adaptors, or interference.
