  1. 1 turn on your desktop only

2 turn off modem and router

3 turn on the modem, wait for it to load.

4 turn on the router, wait for it to connect

    5 restart your computer

6 right click on the network icon on the taskbar

7 launch config utilities or connect to a network

8 highlight your router > [CONNECT]

  2. try connect it using a ethernet wire instead.

  3. turn off all your pc, laptop and router,

Leave it off for 2 minutes, turn on your router let it load, turn on your laptop, let it load properly, try it to see if it works, if it worked, turn on your pc see if it works too, if one of them stopped working then you need to go on your router and select Different ip address to your desktop and your laptop and assign them.

    Hopefully they will work.

  4. is it your laptop?

do you download from limewire or any other programme?

ive just had my laptop put back to factory settings because i could connect to my router from my laptop but couldnt use the net, after 3 weeks i finally got fed up of trying and took my laptop to PC world, they told me that because i have been downloading music files from limewire a virus got past norton 360 and deleted my IP address which you need for your router to sent information back to you pc/laptop!
