Connecting DVD Recorder, HDTV, and DirecTV Satellite?

I am having a horrid time trying to connect together 3 electronic components so all function as intended: I am trying to install a new DVD Recorder so that I can use it to record shows via DirectTV, our satellite provider. We have a Samsung HDTV, similar to PN58A550. The DVD Recorder is a Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK. We have a single receiver DirecTV unit. The instructions while simple don't show how to connect both a Satellite Receiver, HDTV, and the Recorder, just 2 of the 3. Can anybody please help?

Hi I am a directv contractor here is what you have to do

get a set of Standard A/V cables the ones that have red,white,and yellow conectors. connect one end to the out on the reciver and the other to the in on the recorder.

And your ready to go.
