Question:

Connecting DVD player to TV?

I used to run the DVD player through my VCR but now my VCR broke and I cant figure out how to connect the DVD to the tv. I have 2 sets of red, white and yellow cables, coax cable, and a switch box.

The back of the TV only has 1 jack for a coax cable which normally would be used for the antenna.

The back of the DVD has one set of jacks, red, white and yellow. Then it has a S-video jack.

For the life of me, I cant get it to work. Please help :)

  1. The yellow and white jack in the front will work.  But it won't work on channel 4 or 3 anymore.  There should be a 'Game' or 'VCR' button on your TV remote.  Switch it to that game option and it will work great.  It will even look clearer than if it plugged in the back since the signals aren't going through the tuner.  It's yellow plug to yellow and white plug to white.  When you want to watch regular TV again, switch off the 'game' option.

  2. Your TV sounds a bit old. Does your tv have anything besides the coax connection? Anything in the front? hidden door?
