Question:

Connecting Speakers To Amp?

How exactly do you connect the speaker wire coming from the amp to each individual speaker. Each speaker has two prongs protruding from them, which I'm assuming is + and -. Are there any other options other than soldering the speaker wire to the terminals.

  1. You should use a crimp on spade connector. Soldering may be best. But, then the speaker is pretty much permanently installed.

  2. you can buy connectors from most any box store or radio shack type store. they come in different sizes and are probably cost $1 or 2 per bag.  just bare the end of the wire from the amp and crimp the connector onto the end and connect to the speaker

  3. none then i know of other than just twisting the stereo wire really tight around them. that works but of course soldering is best. keep in mind that the larger terminal *prong* is the positive one.

  4. there are many options. you can get a splicer, crimper, you can crimp a connection to the end of the speaker wire to go onto the prongs soldering would be best though.
