Connecting Subwoofer to car door speaker???

i know alot of people who hook up a subwoofer to their door speakers by twisting the all the wires it seems to work and sound great. NO amp tho? is this the best idea ever lol?

  1. if you connect a sub to a radio without an amp you can (and WILL) mess up the sub and you run a very high risk of frying the radio also

    a radio does not have the necessary wattage to push subs so it will overwork itself trying to provide the necessary wattage- in turn frying its internal amplifier

    the sub wont have the necessary wattage so it doesn't have enough power, the signal becomes distorted, or "clipped." This distorted signal can cause parts of the speaker to overheat, warp and melt.

    DON'T DO IT!!


  2. No...but the do make 6in subwoofers and cars do come with stock amps installed so it is possible
