  1. I would try and see about getting your driver updated. There's no reason why it shouldn't support video and audio across HDMI.

  2. ur comp has an hdmi port???

alright this is wht you would usually do ,

    run a s-video from computer to tv(s-video)

and then for sound run a optical cable for audio component unless you are hooking external speakers ..

    good luck

  3. What are "avi" cables?

When you go into catalyst control center, if the tv is already detected and being used as an additional display, you can select it as "TV Properties" or something like that, and change the refresh rate and resolution. If it doesn't work, either contact ati or find a good forum designated on video cards. With your card you shouldn't have any problems. HDMI is obviously the best connection(unless your tv has DVI, but few do), and s-video only supports up to 1024x768 so it will not give you HD (1280x720 or greater). HDTVs have either 1280x720(720p), 1920x1080 interlaced(1080i), and 1920x1080(1080p). Pick the output resolution so it matches the tv's resolution.

This is the type of question that a forum is better suited for, since they allow for better back and forth conversing, Maybe try doom9 forums? http://forum.doom9.org/ There are some pretty knowledgable people on there.
