Connecting a new computer to an older printer

Question

I bought an Extensa 4620-4605 earlier this year. I just now went to connect it to my older printer--an HP laserjet 2100 series (C4170A)--but I don't know how. My printer has 3 connections--a parallel port (my computer doesn't), a local talk port (my computer ???), and IR (so does my computer but printing is hit and miss--mostly miss). How do I connect the two?
