Connecting a pc to a laptop

Question

I'm trying to connect a pc to a lenovo thinkpad laptop. The laptop uses a local wireless connection (from the hotel next door) and my pc has a cable connection. I connected the two using a patch crossover ethernet cable, but don't know what to do now. Help!!
