Connecting a reciever to an amps unswitched ac...

Question

i am trying to turn everything on with one button.the back of my reciever says ac inlet is max 250 watts, i want to connect it to my amp that has an outlet that says unswitched max 200 watts. whats confusing me is this inlet/outlet thing,will it be safe to connect or shouldn't try it.
