Connecting an ipod dock to an onkyo receiver

Question

i have an onkyo tx-505e receiver and want to connect a ds-ax2 dock. the manual tells me to use the CAB-Sat connection if I want to have on-screen control of the i-pod. If i do that, where do I connect the audio from my cable box and how will the audio from cable shows be received?
