Connecting computer to tv help ?

my compuer has got a s-video socket on the back of it and so has my tv if i buy a s-video to s-video cable will i be able to see my compuer on my tv ?

I recently went through this.

The first answer is "maybe."  This depends on the video card in your computer - whether it already acts like a "converter."  This worked on one laptop I had, and since your computer has an s-video "out" socket, then it'll probably work for you.

s-video cables are cheap ($5 or so) and you can get them on eBay.  So it doesn't hurt to try as step 1.

Then if step 1 fails (maybe), you'll need to get a video converter.  I needed this for another laptop I had (which didn't have an s-video socket).  I got my converter on eBay for about $35 including shipping.  Search for "PC to TV converter" on eBay.  (But again, I doubt you'll have to resort to this second step.)
