Connecting my DVD player to my Digital Cable Box?

I connected my DVD player ( all 3 color coded chords) into input color matched of my DIgital Cable Box. I go to play my DVD Player and nothing shows up. Is there something else I have to do enable to get this to work?

It doesn't make sense to connect our DVD player to your cable box. These are both output devices. They should both be connected to an input device, namely your TV. (Even if your cable box has physical input jacks, it's likely they are disabled by your cable company.)

ok so the connections were made. next step.

the output of the DVD player should go into the input of the cable box. the cable box then needs an output to the tv. (via 3 cords or w/e your systems requires)
