Connecting my cd stereo to 1990 Ford Taurus

I am trying to install my durabrand db 1200 cd player into my 1990 ford taurus and it is not working. At first it turned on and played the cd but no sound came out. Now it wont power on at all. Not sure where the wires go because my stereo has more wires (2 violet, 2 green, 2 white 2 gray, etc) compared to my ford. Any suggestions?
