hello. i am trying to connect my mp3 (creative zen) to my home theatre system (sony home theatre system ht ddw870).

the theatres system looks like this:

http://www.superdiscounts.in/images/SONY%20HT-DDW870.gif

so i've been trying for a while and reading the books & stuff.. but im stumped.

i think i have to use a cord that connects from my "line in" input on my mp3 to an rca cable (only the red and white one). there is a spot to put the rca cable in the front of the home theatre control system but when i connect them nothing happens! do i have to program the control centre to play the mp3? if so, how?

please help me!!

extra details:

my tv and home surround sound are already hooked up, i dont have to take any of that out right?

the list of connectable components in the sony book are:

dvd player, tv monitor, satellite tuner, super audio cd/cd player, md/tape deck, vcr, camcorder, video game, etc.

thanks for reading. if you have any helpful hints or know what i am doing wrong please let me know!

  1. you dont have to take anything apart.. make sure you have the right component selection ( you can do this by selecting the input buttons on the remote .. in your case VIDEO 3) and see if that works.. im assuming you connected your mp3 player from the headphone jack..

  2.     You connect optical digital cable ( Toslink )  from PS3 to receiver for surround sound, RCA cables only give you stereo.
