Connecting satellite and cable to DVR?

Hi, I currently subscribe to both cable and satellite (for international channels). I would like to connect them both to my Panasonic DVR so that I can record programs while I am away. How do I go about doing this? I currently have only cable connected to my DVR, so I can record cable programs but not satellite programs. I should also mention that I also have a Philips master video switching center - can I use this somehow to solve this problem?

I would think the switching center could take both inputs then you could choose which one to use.  Otherwise, some DVRs have multiple inputs.  Your choice.
