  1. If you connect the 10" woofer on the computer it will not play very loud,it will play loud as a head phone speakers, which is not something you will not enjoy listening to.You have 2 options which you can choose.

    1) you can buy a small wattage home amplifier/receiver to power the subwoofer.which would require some wiring. You'll have to hook your computer to the receiver then hook your woofer onto the receiver ( COMPUTER + RECEIVER + WOOFER = sound).Basically why you are using an amplifier/receiver is because your computer in sending out a small signal(sound),so you need an amplifier/receiver to amplify(increase) the signal(sound) so it can be LOUD.

Now this is quite some work, but you have an easier option which you can choose:

2)you can buy a powered subwoofer which means this subwoofer is already in a box and it has an amplifier built into the box,so all you have to do is buy and plug your computer in and you are all set.By doing this you will not be able to use your 10" subwoofer and this option might cost you money, but the sound quality is excellent.Try ebay .

    Good luck.
