Is it possible to set up ones own Internet connection without having to have a service provider. ?

If so how does one go about it and what equipment would one need.

Would a direct Sat link work.?

  1. If I knew how to do this I would really save money!

  2. no i dont think u can access the internet without an ISP address...but if you have built in wi fi on ur laptop it may be able to connect to an open wi fi connection that does not require a password...good luck

  3. well, if u have WiFi u can ask a neighbor with a strong router if u can use there's... but that would still be having an ISP, i dont really think there is a way unless you buy all the equipment necessary to connect straight to the Internet. which i don't know what all of that is but i'm sure it might run rather expensive.  If u are basically talking about connecting to the internet for free, without paying for an ISP, that would be cheaper, but that's illegal, and i sugges you don't do it.

  5. Its the same as stealing cable. Its Illegal and most people that have routers have it protected so people like you wont use it. Your best bet is getting a provider, or go with out.

  6. You can't.
