Connection of webcam

Question

sir,i own a satellite L305-S5875 Toshiba laptop.each time i invite friends to view my cam,they tell me that they cant see any thing.I have checked up with yahoo and they said that my cam was not compartible with yahoo and that i should install drivers to enable create compartibility.I am lost as i do not understand the kind of drivers they mean.
