Connection problems. I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have just bought a Philips HDTV

I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have just bought a Philips HDTV plasma and a Panasonic SC-PT760 home theater system. Each works independently, but I can't get the t.v. to play off the sound system and I have already tried adding the audio red and white cables. I am using HDMI cables from the HD DVR to the tv as well as a HDMI cable from the Panasonic sound system to the t.v. I have tried to add the audio cables from the panasonic to the t.v. with no results. Please help!!!

Also, how can I get them to all run off of one remote? There's no remote codes in any of the manuals.
