Question:

I'm in XP and I'm connected to a PC (which is Linux based, via samba), I want to be able to re-connect to the same PC but with different login details/credentials, note: there isn't a mapped drive, just via network neighborhood etc.

Everytime I click on the PC in the workgrounp it doesn't ask me for login credentials, how can I force new login to machine? setting in Samba?,

Already tried ipconfig /release and /renew, no difference,

Can't find a solution,

Cheers

  1. You can only log on to the linux pc if you are a user on there (with a valid username)

You may also need to configure the smb.conf to allow access, the best thing i can do is give you a link to a guide for networking, its very detailed and indepth but covers what you need to know :)
