Trying to connect my PS2 to my surround sound via Optical output doesnt seem to be working for me. I have went into system config and allowed the output to be switched on, but when i connect it up and play a game i hear nothing. I then realised i had to press the ''optical input' buttong on my dvd player, thinking this would work... but it didnt. im stuck please help me =[

Oh and also, my dvd player has a built in amplifier for my surround sound speakers, incase you got the wrong idea thinking my subwoofer had it built in that lol =]

  1. Make sure the cables are good, with no sharp bends that can damage the strands.

Also, make sure the connections are fully seated in both the receiver and the PS-2.

Plus, when selecting to activate the optical output, be sure you press the right button to confirm the setting instead of canceling it.

  2. Does the optical cable glow red at the amp connection end?

If not then the PS2 is not emmiting a signal and needs to be activated in the menu.

If it is then your dvd player needs to be looking at the right input.

If this helps then Id be grateful if you could visit my blog and click on any of the adds for me..ta
