Connections anxious about Weapon’s Amnesty’s performance after his come back
Weapon’s Amnesty is an 8-year-old Irish out of Presenting and Victoria Theatre, under the training of C Byrnes. The last race that he ran in and won was the RSA Chase Grade 1 for five-year-olds and above, over a distance of three metres and 110 yards.
After breaking from the stall he did not rush for the lead straight away rather patiently stayed behind with a steady pace.
He then over rode other contesting horses gradually and was soon leading, going through the wire with D N Russell onboard.
The second position was claimed by A P McCoy’s Burton Port and yet again Nicky Henderson’s representative, Long Run, managed being the third of the lot to go through the finish line.
The wonder horse, Weapon’s Amnesty, had to be out from racing almost the entire season due to an injury but the connections and specifically the trainer is confident that the horse will be victorious once he comes back as he was right before leaving.
They want Weapon’s Amnesty to participate in at least one race before the season comes to an end, which they plan to be in November.
"He's in good form at the moment and the plan is for him to be out somewhere in November”, said Byrnes.
No decisions have been taken yet as far as the race participation is concerned but he has to go left-handed which itself limits the possibilities and options that they have got in the near future.
They will have to compromise with less time and less options at this phase of the season.
Byrnes continued telling, "That means there are limited options with him before Christmas, so we'll have to see. We'll see how he's coming along nearer the time, but hopefully we'll find something in November”.
Right after he has performed once and the connections are no longer uncertain or doubtful about his capabilities then they are planning to go for the Leopardstown for the Lexus Chase over Christmas.
Till yet they are hopeful and positive. This performance for him would set the rhythm for races that he will get to participate in during the next season.
