Question:

Connections between HDTV, cable box, blu ray?

Hello,

Just want to confirm I'm doing this right. I have a HDTV with 2 HDMI slots, comcast cable box, a receiver without HDMI slots, bose speakers, and a new blu ray player. I want to confirm I'm connecting everything right.

I have a HDMI wire going from cable box to HDTV for video, and an coaxial digital cord from cable box to receiver for audio. Is that how that should be done?

For the blu ray I'm planning on buying the wires tomorrow. I plan on getting one HDMI cord for video from blu ray directly to tv, and a coaxial digital cord for audio from blu ray directly to receiver. Is that the best way to do it?

Thanks

Jason

  1. I'd say you nailed it! Your running the best method to both video and audio devices! Congratulations, your an AV guy!

The only thing I'd add is change your terminology. Cords are for consumers. Pro's use cables. lol.
