If a child has a raw score of 44 on the Conners Rating Scale (revised/short form) does that meet the criteria for (or support a diagnosis of ) ADHD?

Thanks for any replies!

  1. Giving this information out is a huge no-no!!!!   I believe it is all protected by the company that owns the rights.  It's also very dangerous to put the interpretation out there because a parent can now adjust his scores accordingly!!

Interpretation materials are usually under lock and key!

  2. It can depend on a childs age but lets say the child is 9-11yrs old , Any  score over  60 is said to be a cause for concern,  61 being low and  70 being significant. These ratings do not and cannot diagnose ADHD alone but are classed as a very good indicator and are used widely. According to these figures a score of 44 would not support a diagnoses of ADHD

  3. The Conners was never meant to diagnose someone but to assess for symptoms. I would suggest contacting a therapist and see if your child meets the DSM criteria. That test can be quite subjective being that it collects responses from teachers, parents etc. Also since it is self reported. As a result this test cannot be validated.  MastersnPsychology
