Connor Jaeger wins Men’s 200m freestyle gold – Swimming News
Connor Jaeger of Club Wolverine-M won gold medal of Men’s 200m freestyle on day two of the 2013 Arena International Grand Prix at the George F. Haines International Swim Center on Saturday, June 1.
The 22-year-old Jaeger devastated hopes of his opponents in the 200m discipline as he cruised his way towards the finishing end for first position. He faced tough contest from his following swimmer in the four-lap event but with
his exceptionally strong efforts, Jaeger managed to cruise his way towards the finishing end for gold medal.
He stayed in a marginal lead over his following swimmer and touched the wall for first position with the timing of 1 minute and 49.14 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Bobby Hurley of Tucson Ford Deal, who failed to sustain his fastest qualification spot in the race and ended his race in second place by producing an effort of 1 minute and 49.21 seconds.
The second best finisher was followed by Michael Klueh of Club Wolverine-M, who was only 0.27 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for bronze medal with the timing of 1 minute and 49.48 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Anders Nielsen of Club Wolverine-M, who was only 0.26 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end by producing a time of 1 minute and 49.74 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Tom Kremer of Una MP-PC, who remained only 0.09 seconds slower and tapped the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 49.83 seconds.
Kremer was followed by Fernando dos Santos of SCCP, who was only 0.21 seconds behind and made his way towards the finishing end for sixth place by posting a time of 1 minute and 50.04 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was obtained by Michael Wynalda of Club Wolverine-M, who suffered a loss of 0.11 seconds from his foregoing finisher and transpired on the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 50.15 seconds.
Eighth position of the swim was secured by Nicholas Ces Oliveira of Fiat Minas, who was only 0.17 seconds slower from upsetting his foregoing finisher and concluded his race in eighth place with the timing of 1 minute and 50.32
seconds.
In addition, Jaeger expressed contentment over his victory in the event while the position holders collected medals and accolades at the victory ceremony of the event.
