Conor Dwyer secures Men’s 200m Individual Medley crown – 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals
Day four of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals saw the incredible splash of Conor Dwyer in Paloalto, California, on Friday, August 5.
The session of the long course meet conducted the Men’s 200m IM final, where Conor Dwyer of LFSCIL thrashed William Harris of UN08CA by posting a record time of 1 minute and 59.19 seconds. Harris captured silver in a time of 2 minutes and 00.91 seconds,
while Burckle posted a time of 2 minutes and 01.10 seconds to secure the bronze title.
Davis Noland of HACMA wound up fourth in 2 minutes and 01.14 seconds, whereas, Cory Chitwood of FORDAZ and Robert Margalis of FASTCA were placed fifth by submitting a matching time of 2 minutes and 01.24 seconds.
In the subsequent meet, Todd Patrick of NBACMD earned seventh spot by posting a time of 2 minutes and 01.35 seconds. Austin Surhoff of UN01ST was placed eighth in 2 minutes and 02.40 seconds, while Kyle Whitaker of CWMI finished ninth in a time of 2 minutes
and 04.23 seconds.
Jack Brown topped the Men’s 200m Individual Medley B Final by submitting a sterling time of 2 minutes and 00.82 seconds. Meanwhile, Chase Kalisz of NBACMD wound up second in 2 minutes and 01.79 seconds and Austen Thompson of FORDAZ was placed third in a
time of 2 minutes and 03.19 seconds. Connor Signorin of PAANJ finished fourth in a time of 2 minutes and 03.20 seconds, while William Cregar of ABSCGA was placed fifth in 2 minutes and 03.27 seconds.
The Men’s 200m IM C Final was captured by NBACMD’s athlete with a winning time of 2 minutes and 02.22 seconds. Meanwhile, Joshua Prenot of SMSCCA finished second on the podium with a time of 2 minutes and 02.24 seconds, while Joseph Bentz of DYNAGA earned
third spot in 2 minutes and 03.03 seconds. Russell Payne of SCSCPC was placed fourth in a time of 2 minutes and 03.43 seconds, whereas, Peter Benner of QDDVA settled fifth in 2 minutes and 03.47 seconds.
