  1. It's not that.  Too many of them have nothing other than denial driving them.  They screwed up not once, but twice, and admitting that is beyond most of their capabilities.

  2. And possibly some sort of twisted joy they may get from seeing people who are down on there luck, suffer as much as possible.

  3. Yes, the ability for everyone who supports assuming personal responsibly for oneself to have the same opportunities as I do.

  4. Your use of "cons" is so 2004!  Most Americans would like to experience an economic resurgence in this country so that they can afford to support their families, keep their homes and somehow continue to pay their taxes. Economics motivates people, not party affiliation.

  5. Yup I spent 26 years in the military out of 'selfish personal gain.'

    What have You ever done?

  6. Sure, that is why I did 22 years in the Marines.  We jarheads call it, a sense of duty.  Courage, honor and commitment.  I lived from payday to payday, so not a whole lot of personal gain, I did have a huge sense of accomplishment though.  I hope that helps.

  7. Yes.  The very thought of Socialism.  That's the biggest motivator I have and I'll work against you people 24/7, if I have to.

  8. Visiting YA to read moronic questions during my break motivates me to donate to the local schools in my area to, hopefully, stem the tide of ignorance.

  9. Often when a question is posed on y/a about he shape of the economy, the Conservatives like to get on and say they are better off than they were 8 years ago.  Of course , the majority of them don't admit that they were students 8 years ago.  And the other side of the coin is that there are Liberals that are better off 8 years ago, but the difference is that Liberals care about how the economy is affecting others that are less fortunate.  Conservatives seem to only care about how it affects them.

speaking of personal gain, you might want to look at a copy of John McCain's book "Worth Fighting For" where he describes why he ran for President.  Oddly enough , for a man who claims to put country first at all times, he said that it was not for country, not for patriotism, but for guess what - personal gain.......

  10. Yes I am motivated by the strong, intelligent and mature people who calmly answer questions like this one. Thank you all for the inspiration!

  11. not much more.

fyi two famous conservatives:Scrooge mc duck,mr burns.

  12. Yes, controlling and inflicting personal morals onto others.

  13. Sure, my faith and helping others.  It's better to give than receive.

  14. Pray tell just what exactly is wrong with personal gain ? If I don't look after and take care of Number 1 (me) who's going to do it ? You ? The Government? All the people who receive government entitlement payments that depend on those of us who are motivated by personal gain ?  Why don't you climb down from your faux Ivory Tower so we can compare tax returns and see who contributes more. You or someone who is motivated by personal gain.

  15. Yes, that is getting the joy of observing the superiority of my family over other people's families. It fills my heart with pride. If you accept Jesus as your personal savior, you too can experience this egomaniacal thrill.

  16. watching libs and leftists always lose arguments involving reasoning comes in a close second

  17. Yes.

I used to sit next to a gal at work by the name of Liz. One day I told her I was a Republican. She then told me that she thinks of the Republican Party as being the party of greed. That's all the Republicans are for, she said: greed.

Then another day about one week later, she apparently forgot what she had said to me before because she mentioned that she wanted to marry a rich man. "So, you want to marry a Republican?" I asked. She replied that she doesn't care what his politics are, as long as he's rich.

  18. Myself, I am very partial to accepting contracts and hunting down assorted leftists for the bounty, but it is kind of like being a professional ball player. I'd have done it for free if they didn't pay me.

  19. no, maybe helping pay for both my kids to attended and graduate college and to be self sufficient ....Serve my country for 24 years...

and what have you done besides sitting at the Starbucks?

  20. I'm not even conservative and I find this question insulting.  They're another political view, accept it and move on.

  21. No.

  22. Selfish personal gain? Isn't it selfish for some people to take the money of their hard working neighbor? You should re-evaluate what "selfish" really is. It is one thing to give - which I happily do. It's another to be robbed.

  23. I am not motivated by selfish personal gain at all so your question is invalid..
