Consensus Theory in sociology - would FUNCTIONALISM be classes as it?

  1. Functionalism is usually seen as a consensus theory as it is assumed everyone playing their role contributes to the smooth functioning of society - it ignores the conflicts between how those roles affect different members / groups in society - everything is seen as being done for the greater good :-)
