  1. If you have your own insurance TPFT or FULLY COMP: if you check your own policy you will find that, with the owners

permission you are able to drive any car (within reason) on

    third party cover only.

  2. Well if you have a licence for the car you are driving, and your insurance on the other vehicle enables you to drive other vehicles with the owner's permission, then there is NO problem at all.

If your insurance doesn't enable you to drive other vehicles then you might get a small (£250 ish) fine and maybe 3-6 points, especially if you were doing it for your drunk friend!

Not quite sure why people are saying about you killing someone - how the h**l would insurance make any difference if you killed someone?? They would be dead whether you had insurance or not!!! very strange! Fair enough if it was "what if you hit my brand new Bentley" but if you killed me - i'd be dead with or without your insurance!!!

Check your insurance details and I'm glad you had the brains to ask before doing anything :)

  3. You say you have full licence so this is not an issue.  Regarding the insurance some policies allow you to drive another car but they only cover you third party.  You will have to check this out fully with insurance company.  I have read it that you are not intoxicated at the time.  If you were caught with no ins.  then you should expect a fine of £200 and a years ban

  4. If you have comprehensive insurance on your own car you are usually insured on a third Party Legal Liability only basis to drive any other car not owned or hired to you.  If you do not have comprehensive do NOT be tempted, the penalty if caught might put you off the road for a year and do your bank balance the world of no good.

  5. big fine 6 points . automatic.

  6. hi marv..you may well be insured through your insurance as long as the other car has insurance on it an it isnt in your name..ring your insurance for details...if your not then 6-8 points and £175 fine

  7. 3 month driving ban if you have a licence and no past times of driving without....... ( if you are lucky )

could be 6 months if un lucky and a £50 fine plus court costs usually £45.

no tax, mot and insurance usually 6 to 12 month ban

  8. Stuff the penalties.

What if you cause an accident and you kill a father of two kids?

Not only has someone been killed but they have no way of recovering their only means of income from their father. If you have no insurance then they can't claim for lost earning from your insurer. All they get is a pittance from the state for criminal injury. Unless they decide to sue you personally for everything you own.

You can destroy peoples lives by not having insurance.

  9. The courts come down VERY hard on driving without insurance.

I really would not risk it.

  10. It Sounds like you are really screwed up by this problem. Hope you could get good luck here.http://car-insurance.online-helpers.info...

  11. The consequences for you or anyone you injure while not insured can be very serious.

The injured party would not be able to recover any damages, other that directly through you. How would you pay for someone's lifetime loss of earnings?

For you, the courts take a very dim view of driving without insurance and you could face very stiff penalties.

I would recommend that you change your insurance to include driving cars you don't own.

  12. Depends on your own insurance,it may cover you to drive someone elses car, under a third party provision.ie, in the event of an accident, your friend would get no payout ,but the other car driver might, depending on the cicumstances.

You need to check your policy.

  13. if your insurance covers you to drive another car with owners consent provided you can prove it at the roadside you should be ok if not the car is impounded and there is a heavy fine. if you cant prove your are insured at the roadside but are insured then the car is impounded and you claim it back on production of your insurance plus you have to pay for the cars recovery and storage

  14. If your own insurance does not cover you to drive another vehicle then you're in trouble, you get points and fine as well, same again if you driving a friend who had a drink you need to be covered to drive, the best thing is not to take any chances and both take a cab.

  15. it does not matter. you are being irresponsible. you could just throw him in a cab.

  16. IF your friends car has insurance and YOUR insurance policy covers you to drive other cars (usually standard with fully comp insurance) you could legally drive it on a third party basis I.e. if you crashed the other party would be compensated but your friend would not, even if he was fully comp.
