Question:

Consequences of having s*x when doctor tells you not to?

I am 31 weeks along. At 25 weeks I was put on bedrest due to a high leak in the amniotic sac. I have since then had several ultrasounds and the sac has re-sealed and the baby has plenty of water. The tech even told me bedrest was ridiculous because we were out of danger, but to still take it easy of course. My doctor at the time of the bedrest had told me no s*x whatsoever, baths, or anything that involves something going inside of my v****a. Well it's been 6 weeks now with no further problems..and my husband and I are dying!!! I want to follow doctor's orders and keep my baby safe but it almost seems like it shouldnt be an issue anymore. Thoughts?

  1. I'd call doc and ask, but if s/he still says no I personally wouldn't risk it - I'd be too worried and s*x wouldn't be fully enjoyable for me anyway.  Maybe you and your husband can try other forms of s*x for now (e.g. oral).

  2. Hold off until you talk to the doctor again.  You don't want to risk going into labour this early in the pregnancy.

  3. i would say just call the doc and ask...

  4. Yes, follow the doctors advice. Some people go their whole pregnancies without s*x. The health of your baby is really no sacrifice whatsoever surely?
