  1. Consequences are inately bound to the reaction of the action.

Punishment, however, is a concept introduced by a foreign entity.

  2. Consequences are the result that happens if a student doesn't earn a reward. Punishment is taking away something. it's all in how you word it.

  3. consequences tend to benefit the child/influence behaviour (in the long run) and are more likely to change their behaviour. Punishments tend to benefit the parent/teacher, as it helps them to let off steam and feel a bit more in control but don't actually tend to change the child's behaviour. Also a consequence tends to be consistent and something that the child will come to expect if they engage in a certain way. A punishment tends to be more erratic and come from parents becoming increasingly angry and end up blowing their top and issuing a punishment far harsher than the behaviour necessarily deserves. Both consequences and punishments are a fairly negative way to manage behaviour. Consequences have their place but rewarding/reinforcing good behaviour is far more effective in the long run adn a more pleasant way to motivate children to behave.

  4. Well, its like this. having unprotected s*x and getting pregnant would be the consiquence, not the punishment. punishment would probably be your parents kicking you out of the house.

Best way i can desribe it
