  1. There is a move in Britain to make homeowners convert their gardens into wildlife sanctuaries.

Not for tigers, but tiger moths, butterflies, and plants.

Mine has a lot of squirrels, small birds, moths, butterflies, and the occasional cobra that comes for the field rats.

  2. All the gardens i have ever made are aiming towards Eco system ,meaning diversity and encouraging the wild life that prevails,as well as incorporating water harvesting to maximize humidity, I have always included ponds.

  3. I'm not sure what you mean. Technically speaking, there is no such thing as a "garden ecosystem" -- typical examples of ecosystems include ponds, forests, estuaries, etc. but not just the inhabitants but also the physical and chemical factors that make up the abiotic environment.

  4. I think you mean the creation or preservation of an existing garden with ponds rockeries and plants to attract the fauna and get a feel of the nature around your office or home..

fine, then is it possible in crowded urban areas to have that space.. except for big office / shopping complexes who can ear mark some good space for the greenery..

indeed the greenery could absorb the heat of the tropical sunshine, aggravated by the radiation from the concrete walls of buildings, tar topped roads, the hot exhausts from vehicles  etc..

they absorb the irritating glare of reflected light and cool the eyes of the traveller.. particularly the avenue trees and road side parks..

the garden plants absord the carbon dioxide and other toxic gases (such as sulphur dioxide) and give out oxygen after photosynthesis, thus purifying the ambience..

creation / preservation of all greenery amidst the crowded urban areas is indeed good for all..
