Question:

Conservation officer testing?

I applied to be a NH conservation officer and am curious about the written / physical testing. Has anybody gone through this? If my college education was geared towards environmental studies and biology do I have to worry about studying for the written exam? Also, is it possible to drag something that weighs more than I do (not sure if the object to be dragged will be on any sort of friction reducing surface).

  1. I don't know about NH, but I would guess that the written test will revolve more around general intelligence than anything that would have come up in biology class.  Basic math and problem solving.

As far as dragging something that's heavier than you are, it's definitely possible, but there is technique involved.  See if you can get ahold of a heavy duty tarp and load it up, and then drag it.  It's not hard, like I said - it just takes practice!
