Conservatives is this your working class heritage? Does it make you stand tall with pride?

When conservatives have had a choice between tax cuts for the upper 1 % of Americans and the middle class, they have chosen the super rich.

When conservatives have had a choice between tax cuts for the super-rich and funding for the National Institute of Health, which supports the development of cures for cancer, heart disease, and other serious illness, they have cut funding for the NIH.

When conservatives had the choice between tax cuts for the rich and body armor for American troops dying in Iraq, they chose tax cuts.

Every time working people have asked for a rise in the minimum wage, conservatives have opposed it, saying that wealthy businesses can't afford it--even as they gave huge bonuses to their CEOs.

When Congress proposed a national holiday honoring MLK, conservatives opposed it, calling him a communist of the floor of the US Senate.

When people in wheelchairs, including WWII vets who lost their limbs defending our nation, asked for accessible sidewalks and buildings, conservatives opposed it saying it was too expensive.

When FDR tried to create a safety net for senior citizens, conservatives opposed it, saying we couldn't afford it, and they have been trying to dismantle Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid ever since.

When oil profits soared beyond all previous heights and the price of gas had doubled, Conservatives pushed through Congress a taxpayer-financed, multibillion-dollar 'incentives package' for oil companies to keep up the good work.

This is just a small sampling of your many gifts to working and middle class America.

  1. I do not believe in class warfare, like you do.

The top 1% pay over 33% of federal income taxes.  The bottom 50% pay 3%.  You cannot give tax cuts to those who do not pay them.  That is socialism.

Secondly, the wealthy are the ones who expand business and create jobs.  I am not jealous of them, I am working to join them.  I need the government to get out of my way.

The minimum wage harms the economy.  I have customers who have to make a payroll and the minimum wage hurts jobs.  It is the marketplace not government who sets a wage.  If you do not make enough, offer more to get more.

Oil profits are not at an all time high.  You have to look at profit margins.  If you had any clue to economics you would understand this.

  2. fact, bush has spent more on fighting cancer than any other president, spent more on health care for seniors, made sure all of the soldiers had body armor.that was obama who didn't support the bill to fund the soldiers.everyone including you got tax breaks under bush and 2 stimulus packages.he expanded chips coverage for children and parents also.he extended unemployment benefits for 26 weeks twice.this is all a lie! nice try though!

  3. The fact that you fail to grasp in your brainwashed and pathetic mind is that this is not the policy of conservatives.  Rather, it is the collective policy of all who run our government.  Do not be so naive as to think that conservatives are single-handedly ruining our country while the democrates valiantly try to stop them.  Remember missy that it is the democrates who are running congress, not the republicans, and where have they gotten us?

  4. That's too much babbling to address it all.  But I will say it wasn't wealthy businesses they were worried about not being able to afford minimum wage increases, it was small businesses -- you know, kind of like the working class small businesses.

You may think, in your liberal haze, that they're catering to the rich, but the rich are who employee the working class and they're trying to make sure the economy stays invigorated by allowing the wealthy to spread the wealth through jobs.

  5. conservative = hypocrite

    Of course morality is one of their favorite cards but bible doesn't matter when it comes to this;

“What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul.”

    ~ Jesus

”Whatever you do to the least of my brothers, you do to me.”

    ~ Matthew 25:40

  6. I hate to say what this post is, but it is typical of a leftist Democrat.  Frankly, I do not believe a word of it.

  7. When was the last time anyone worked for a "poor" person. You give tax breaks to the "rich" to stimulate the economy.  Lets raise taxes on the oil company's and see where that gets us. Also the minimum wage does not effect wealthy businesses it hurts small business. It forces them to raise prices to the point they can't afford to be open. Need more money, get a better job.

  8. While I agree that modern day neoconservatives are very bad, I think you have many flaws in your post.

You know the cure for heart disease? It's called not eating trash food, getting exercise..........you get the point.

Why should I pay for something that people do to themselves? I'm not willing to give pharmacueitcal companies money because somebody is too lazy to take care of himself, capiche?

  9. I do not know where you get your information, but it could not be more wrong. Do some research..

  10. Conservatives simply forgot that a majority of them are the working class.

It's been going on since rome. There will always be people who feel pity for the strong.

  11. and it's quite alright to spend $250,000,000,000 on a war in Iraq, sending our children to do their dirty work.

Who paid for the bailout of the financial institutions to the tune of another $250,000,000,000?  Well it wasn't the rich who got their taxes cut....IT WAS THE CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN OF THE MIDDLE CLASS...our children are being sold to big business, our retirement is being spent

I'm also very worried about our food and water....the current government does not care to protect us

  12. Why don't you believe a word of it Answers202? Because Rush didn't tell you?

Yeah, that republican party has such a sterling record of integrity. Where are those weapons of mass destruction? How about that Larry Craig? How about that moral guidepost Tom Delay? How about that torture that "doesn't" go on yet does? Oh, and I love this one and even your dumbass can't disprove it:

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."

    - G.W. Bush, 9/13/01

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."

    - G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

    Wow, that's some leadership.

All of those people who leave the White House and then publish books detailing how incompetent bush is and how manipulative the GOP has been can't all be wrong? Just sour grapes? Defend the empire all the way to the end, eh?

Oh, and MarkT(urd) in the Republican warped way of thinking, it takes 6 years before results are seen. That's what they claim unless it doesn't fit their need. So in 2 years you think they can undo all the c**p bush has done to this country, huh Mark t**d?
